THE Drug Enforcement Commission (DEC) has arrested Zambia’s deputy Ambassador to Ethiopia Tom Michelo for allegedly abusing his authority of office and swindling some Chinese investors out of US$500, 000. DEC Director General Nason Banda confirmed the arrest in an interview with News diggers. President Hakainde Hichilema had earlier ordered Michelo’s suspension to pave way for an investigation into his alleged conduct. Last week, the President recalled Michelo from his diplomatic mission with immediate effect, after learning that a case had been established against him.
