TWO illegal miners, aged 47 and 48, have died in Lubwe Village near Maamba after an aquamarine pit collapsed on them. Southern Province Police Commanding Officer Moono Namalongo confirmed the mining accident and identified the deceased as Jasper Siamuwele, 47, and Arnold Munkombwe, 48. “The Zambia Police Service in Choma District received a report of a mining accident at Maamba Police Station on May 31 at 22:30 hours. The accident occurred on the same day at approximately 16:00 hours in Lubwe Village.
