TEN Ethiopians have drowned in the Zambezi River while trying to cross into Botswana from Zambia. Southern Province Police Commanding Officer Moono Namalongo said the alleged incident happened on Monday night at around 21:00 hours in Mwaanga Village in Kazungula district. “Be informed that Kazungula police station today on 14/07/2026 at around 11:00hrs received a report of suspected drowning from Charles Nambula on his capacity as an immigration officer who reported that suspected 10 male Ethiopian have drowned into the Zambezi River whilst illegally attempting to cross the river from the Zambian side (Kazungula) into Botswana.
