THE National Sports Council of Zambia has clarified that the Zambia Hockey Association (ZHA) did no formally request for financial support with regards to the participation of the U-18 Men’s and Women’s national teams at the Youth Africa Cup. Last week ZHA announced that the country will not participate in the 2026 U18 Youth Africa Cup scheduled for 6–8 August in Nairobi, Kenya, after failing to raise the K590,148 required to facilitate the participation of both the Under-18 Men’s and Women’s national teams.
