FORMER energy minister Yamfwa Mukanga says President Hakainde Hichilema is corrupting Chambishi voters by promising Zesco connections for 16,000 households in the area. On Tuesday, during community engagements on the Copperbelt, President Hakainde Hichilema instructed Zesco to connect 16,000 households in Chambishi’s Kwa Kabaso area, pledging to personally cover the cost to prevent the utility company from going bankrupt. Commenting in an interview, Wednesday, Mukanga said if President Hichilema intended to help residents with Zesco connections, he should have done so before elections.
