MEMBERS of the European Parliament (MEPs) have called on Zambian authorities to establish an impartial investigation into the murder of former minister Mutotwe Kafwaya and allegations of arbitrary arrests. The resolution, officially titled “Post-electoral repression in Zambia and killing of Mutotwe Kafwaya”, was put to a roll-call vote on Thursday, September 17, 2026, in Strasbourg. The resolution was adopted by 562 votes in favour, one against and 33 abstentions.
