LAWYER representing Chitambala Mwewa has asked court to dismiss the Lusaka mayoral election petition, citing the petitioner’s alleged failure to comply with the procedure governing the hearing of a petition. In this matter, losing NRPUP Lusaka Mayoral candidate Gabriel Kibombwe filed a petition challenging the election of Mwewa as Lusaka Mayor. Kibombwe, who is also seeking a declaration that the election of Mwewa is null and void, polled 195,041 votes against Mwewa’s 200,029 votes.
