FORMER Ndola Central UPND MP Frank Tayali says President Hakainde Hichilema did not ask him not to recontest his parliamentary seat in the August 2026 general elections. Last Monday, President Hichilema disclosed that he had advised some former ministers against contesting parliamentary seats, but they hurled insults at him, accusing him of trying to end their political careers. Tayali, who served as Transport and Logistics minister, was among the former ministers who lost their parliamentary seats in the August polls. He has since petitioned the election results in court.
