THE Law Association of Zambia (LAZ) has called on the Zambia Police Service and other institutions with powers of arrest to ensure that suspects are brought before court without undue delay or lawfully released. LAZ president Arnold Kaluba says suspects should not be kept in custody simply because investigations are ongoing, stressing that detention must never be used as a substitute for proper investigations. NRPUP leader Brian Mundubile and his running mate Makebi Zulu have remained in detention following their arrest on treason charges after the August 2026 general elections.
