THE Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) says the Gen 20 forms filed in the Livingstone High Court by Mapatizya independent losing parliamentary candidate Clive Miyanda are not valid because they were not accompanied by other required electoral documents. Miyanda, who is represented by Chizai Zulu of Linus and Partners, has petitioned the election of UPND’s Emelda Munashabantu as Mapatizya Constituency Member of Parliament, citing alleged electoral irregularities and claiming that results from seven polling stations were swapped. During trial, Mapatizya Constituency Returning Officer in the August 13 elections, Newton Mudenda, said the 14,812 votes declared for Munashabantu and the 14,330 votes declared for Miyanda were the valid results.
