OVER 15 bus drivers whose buses were impounded have appeared before the Lusaka Fast Track Court, for the offence of picking up and dropping off passengers at undesignated places. On Saturday, during the ongoing clean-up operation in Lusaka’s Central Business District (CBD), police impounded 41 buses for loading passengers from undesignated places. The first 16 appeared before Lusaka Magistrate Moffat Phiri at the Lusaka Civic Centre Fast Track Court. All the accused persons pleaded guilty to the charges, and Magistrate Phiri sentenced them to fines ranging from K400 to K1,200.
