FOLLOWING the publication of our editorial opinion in which we disagreed with the Zambia Airways decision to launch their business with an initial focus on local routes, some people have misunderstood our argument. In the comment, we argued that Zambia Airways will not be under pressure to pay statutory taxes, ground handling fees and other related operational costs, meaning that they will be able to lower their airfares enough to beat their tax compliant rivals.
