UNIONISED Miners at Non-Ferrous Company Africa Mining (NFCA) in Chambishi have rejected a K400 salary increment offer. Meanwhile, Mopani Copper Mines has offered its unionized employees an eight percent salary increment in addition to a K500 increment on basic pay which will see its lowest paid miners earning K6,500 basic pay. NFCA workers have since asked their bench union officials from both the National Union of Miners and Allied Workers (NUMAW) and Mineworkers Union of Zambia (MUZ) to go back to management and renegotiate the offer.
