TECHNOLOGY and Science Minister Felix Mutati says the level of uranium detected in the water at Barrick Lumwana Mine in November last year poses no risk as far as radiation exposure to human health and the environment is concerned. Earlier this year, News Diggers reported that Lumwana Mining Company had been battling to contain uranium contamination of drinking water at its facility in North Western Province. But Barrick Lumwana said only a small part of its mine was affected by uranium contamination of water in November last year, and that the uranium exposure was negligible due to low concentration.
