COMMERCE, Trade and Industry Minister Chipoka Mulenga has insisted that producers have the moral obligation to pass Kwacha appreciation benefits to consumers. Mulenga adds that he will suggest to Cabinet a uniform price across the country for essential commodities such as fertiliser, cooking oil, among others, to ensure that benefits are passed on to consumers. Since February 2025, the local currency has been gaining strength over other convertibles such as the US Dollar.
