COMMERCE, Trade and Industry Minister Chipoka Mulenga says Kwacha gains will not hurt the economy, clarifying that they would only hurt exports for a short period. Mulenga has also explained the shareholding structure of Mulungushi Textiles, saying government owns about 36 percent shares, while another 12 percent is owned by other Zambians, with the majority stake owned by the Chinese government. Speaking when he featured on ZNBC’s Sunday Interview, Mulenga dismissed concerns that a strong Kwacha would hurt the economy.
