THE 2025 Economic Establishment Census (EEC) Report has revealed that business establishments increased to 485,034 in 2025 from 66,743 in 2010. The report, launched on Tuesday by Zambia Statistics Agency Statistician General Sheila Mudenda, disclosed that Lusaka recorded the highest distribution of establishments, with 143,125, from 19,054 in 2010. “2025 EEC provided a comprehensive snapshot of the distribution of business establishments operating within Zambia, capturing the full spectrum of economic activity, further broken down by size and industry.
