FIRST Quantum Minerals (FQM) has partnered with Hitachi Construction Machinery to commission the world’s first ultra-large battery-electric mining truck, aimed at reducing carbon emissions at Kansanshi Mine. The electric truck, powered by a battery, has been described as a development that has made Zambia one of the leaders in mining technology.
