MOPANI Copper Mines Plc has been dragged to court by an administrator of a former contractor employee who is claiming about K2.5 million over the death of his brother, Anthony Phiri. Sylvester Phiri, an administrator and elder brother of the deceased is seeking damages for negligence, damages for the dependants under the fatal accidents Acts 1846-1908 and loss of expectation of life being pegged at least K60,000. He also wants damages for loss of leave days amounting to K141,667.50, damages for loss of pension contribution for 35 years and damages for loss of salary increment for 35 years of life.
