THE Constitutional Court has dismissed the Attorney General’s application to join former ECZ chairperson Esau Chulu to a matter in which his former vice chairperson, Emily Sikazwe, is challenging the President’s decision to “prematurely” fire her. In a ruling delivered on November 11, 2022, Constitutional Court judge Judith Mulongoti dismissed the Attorney General’s application on grounds that Sikazwe had no grievance against ECZ, of which justice Chulu was the chairperson. “According to the petitioner, the termination of her contract is unconstitutional for breach of the Constitution.
