THE Lusaka High Court has rejected a medical report of one of the alleged abductors of Pamela Chisumpa and 12 others, which stated that the accused, James Bwalya, was not fit to stand trial. The court contended that the medical report is “old and casual”. This follows an application from state advocate, Bob Mwewa, who asked the court if the said medical report, arising from an examination conducted on March 23, 2023, prior to the court’s order, can be admitted. According to the medical report issued by Dr Charles Mbewe, from the University Teaching Hospital adult hospital, Bwalya sustained a traumatic spinal cord injury after falling from a 5-meter brick wall and was therefore not fit to stand trial. “The...
