THE family of former president Edgar Lungu has argued before the South African High Court in Gauteng that once benefits are removed during a person’s lifetime, they cannot be reinstated after death. Advocate Tembeka Ngcukaitobi, making submissions on a leave to appeal application, said it was “artificial” for the Zambian government to attempt to restore benefits to Lungu after his passing. “Then you have the third problem which is the Kaunda decision is a unique decision and disguisable on the facts.
