MARIA Zaloumis, her Nigerian husband Nathaniel Barthrem, and three others have appeared before the Kabwe Magistrates’ Court in a case where they are charged with the murder of Enock Simfukwe Kasengele. However, Kabwe Magistrate Wamundila Liswaniso adjourned the matter to October 6, 2025, for possible committal to the High Court for a summary trial. This follows the revelation that Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Gilbert Phiri had not yet issued consent for the matter to be prosecuted.
