DRIZIT Zambia Limited has demanded payment of US$3,487,200 from Sino-Metals Leach Zambia Limited, being amounts allegedly due under a contract for environmental assessment services. At the same time, the Zambia Environmental Management Agency (ZEMA) says it is unable to file its defence in a related lawsuit because it currently has no board. Recently, Drizit Zambia sued Sino-Metals and ZEMA in the Lusaka High Court, seeking over US$3.48 million for environmental assessment services allegedly rendered following the Chambishi tailings dam spill earlier this year.
