TWO bank tellers and a banker at Atlasmara Bank have been dragged to court for theft involving K987,400. Meanwhile, Lusaka Magistrate Idah Phiri Mupemo has excused one of the accused, Mildred Mulenga, from appearing before court until she recovers from an illness. In this matter, Mulenga, 46, Kaseba Mulela, 35, and Mubita Songiso, aged 43, are charged with the offence of theft by servant, contrary to Section 272 and 278 of the Penal Code Chapter 87 of the Laws of Zambia. Particulars of the offence are that between December 22, 2023, and December 26, 2023, in Lusaka, the trio, being persons employed by Atlas Mara Bank as a banker and bank tellers, respectively, jointly and whilst acting together stole K987,400...
