THE Lusaka Magistrate’s Court has convicted and sentenced a man to one year imprisonment for threatening to kill his mother with a machete. In this matter, Gift Nzulu was charged with the offence of threatening violence contrary to Section 90 (a) of the Penal Code Chapter 87 of the Laws of Zambia. Particulars of the offence were that Nzulu, on September 1, 2025, in Lusaka, did threaten Brenda Kakompe Nzulu with a panga (machete), to which he said “I will kill you”. Nzulu, when called upon for plea, denied the charge.
