THE Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has filed six grounds of appeal against the acquittal of Livingstone Mayor Constance Nalishebo Muleabai over alleged corrupt practices involving K180,000. Muleabai, 49, of House Number 564 Nakatindi Extension, was charged with two counts of corrupt practices with a private body, which contravenes Section 20(1) as read with Section 41(a) of the Anti-Corruption Act No. 3 of 2012. Particulars of the offence were that Muleabai, on dates unknown but between August 1, 2023 and September 30, 2023, in Livingstone, in her capacity as Mayor of Livingstone City Council, corruptly solicited K120,000 from Mark Gabites as a cash gratification inducement to facilitate 100 percent remission of property rates bills at Livingstone City Council, a matter involving Zamnuka...
