THE State has opposed Munir Zulu’s petition in the Constitutional Court, which is seeking an order for the National Assembly and the ECZ to rescind their decision to declare his parliamentary seat vacant. The State has submitted that the former Lumezi independent member of parliament’s petition lacks merit, adding that the proceedings have been overtaken by events as the constituency has a new representative.
