A 36-YEAR-OLD woman from Chibolya has pleaded guilty to establishing a childcare facility without authorisation from the Department of Social Welfare. In this matter, Josephine Hamawa is facing one count of establishing a childcare facility without approval. Appearing before Lusaka Principal Resident Magistrate Idah Phiri, Hamawa admitted setting up the facility without the required clearance, stating that the facility was registered with the Patents and Companies Registration Agency (PACRA). Hamawa further told the court that she was unaware of the need for social welfare approval before operating the facility.
