A POLICE officer has told the Lusaka High Court that a search of a vehicle linked to Socialist Party president Dr Fred M’membe uncovered a firearm, 35 rounds of ammunition, a metal axe and a catapult. Detective Constable Kenani Simwanza, 31, told the court that Dr M’membe was captured by police at Ndabala Security Checkpoint following a high-speed pursuit on April 8, 2023, after allegedly shooting and assaulting a UPND member during a by-election fracas in Serenje.
