EFF leader Kasonde Mwenda has asked the Lusaka High Court for leave to commence judicial review proceedings against the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) over its failure to allow him to preprocess his presidential nomination supporters. Mwenda had paid the required K100,000 nomination fee and was allocated May 13, 2026, for preprocessing of his supporters. However, he was unable to attend after he was detained by police and transferred to Chinsali District in Muchinga Province in connection with a cyber-related offence.
