OVER 100 ZIALE students have sued the Minister of Justice and the Institute, challenging the application of the 2025 student rules which they claim have unfairly prevented some students from sitting repeat examinations and completing their legal training. The students, led by Anna Nyirongo, have asked the High Court to declare the decision to introduce and apply the 2025 rules illegal, unreasonable and procedurally improper. In their statement of claim, the students argued that although the new rules were promulgated by the Minister of Justice, ZIALE has applied them in a manner that affects students who enrolled and progressed under previous regulatory frameworks.
