FORMER ZESCO managing director Dr Lemba Nyirenda has petitioned the Constitutional Court, seeking an order declaring the dismissal of civil servants on the basis of perceived political affiliation and targeted former party appointments as unconstitutional, null and void. Meanwhile, Dr Nyirenda is further seeking an order against the Zambia Police Service for failing to enforce the law regarding his complaint to recover Farm No. 10326 in Central Province. Suing in his capacity as a senior citizen of Zambia and former ZESCO employee, Dr Nyirenda has sued Attorney General Mulilo Kabesha.
