LUSAKA Chief Resident Magistrate Nthandose Chabala has sentenced a 40-year-old police officer, Lewis Malamba, to 18 months’ imprisonment for soliciting a K8,000 bribe. Meanwhile, Magistrate Chabala has committed the same officer to the High Court for sentencing following his conviction for indecent assault. In this matter, Malamba was charged with corrupt practices by a public officer, contrary to Section 19(1) of the Anti-Corruption Act No. 3 of 2012 of the Laws of Zambia.
