THE Lusaka High Court has ordered the State to present Lima constituency member of parliament Kelvin Kaunda before Judge Kaumbi Ndulo on October 27, 2026, for hearing of his application for bail pending trial. Kaunda has been in detention since October 15, 2026, over allegations that he assaulted Anthony Mwamba during the election campaigns. He was moved from Lubwa Police Post to Mwembeshi Prison, a development confirmed by Zambia Correctional Service (ZCS) Head of Public Relations Superintendent Cornelius Mwanza.
