MINISTER of Youth, Sport and Arts Elvis Nkandu has announced that rehabilitation works at Lusaka’s National Heroes Stadium are expected to be completed by January 2026, raising optimism that international football will soon return to the capital. Nkandu made the remarks after conducting a site visit to assess the progress of the ongoing works and noted that despite earlier delays, the project is now firmly back on track. Speaking during the inspection, the minister expressed satisfaction with developments on the playing surface, particularly following the planting of new grass. “The upgrade works on the National Heroes Stadium pitch are progressing smoothly. We carried out a site inspection yesterday to review progress after the grass seeds were recently planted,” Nkandu said....
