THE Zambia Army has publicly dismissed celebrated amateur boxer and Olympian Stephen Zimba from military service and has warned the Olympian to stop portraying himself as a serving soldier. Zambia Army Spokesperson, Colonel Sydney Mwewa confirmed the development in a statement, noting that Lance Corporal Zimba, also known on social media as “Bimba Mawele”, ceased to be a member of the Zambia Army on January 16, 2026.
