COPPER Queens captain Barbra Banda has been named as one of the best players at the recently ended WAFCON tournament, despite Zambia not making it past the group stage. Banda, who scored five goals at the tournament in three matches was named in attack alongside Malawi’s Tabitha Chawinga and Cameroon’s Marie Ngah. Zambia failed to advance from the group stage despite winning two games, scoring nine goals and conceding only two goals, due to CAF’s tiebreaker rules. Banda was also recently rated the second highest African player in the EA Sports FC27 rankings, after Temwa.
