SIX schools have booked their places in the next round of the 2026 FQM Trident Interschools Independence Tournament following three days of competition in Kalumbila District. A total of 37 schools entered the tournament held under the theme “A Kick for Safety,” with the final scheduled for October 17. The schools that have progressed are defending champions Chitungu, Kashikuwe, Chovwe, Mbole, Musele and Kanzala. Kashikuwe and Chovwe secured qualification during Friday’s opening-day fixtures at Kankonzhi, while Mbole and Musele followed suit after Saturday’s matches at Kisasa. Chitungu and Kanzala completed the list on Sunday. Kashikuwe recorded back-to-back 1-0 wins over Musangezhi and Kanana, with Victor Chasongola scoring in both matches.
