A LUSAKA woman has sued her husband’s first wife for defamation, seeking compensation for insults. Racheal Shawa told the Matero Local Court that Jane Kaoma had been calling her a prostitute and telling members of the community that she was infected with HIV and syphilis. She demanded that Kaoma explains to the court where she had seen her engaging in prostitution and where she had gotten information about her alleged illness. Kaoma, however, denied the allegations, testifying that she had not communicated with Shawa since leaving her marriage.
