A WOMAN from Mtendere has shocked the court by seeking a divorce from her ailing husband, who appeared on crutches. Catherine Chileshe, 35, claimed their marriage collapsed when his mother asked her to use his salary to buy mealie-meal and pay household bills after they moved into the family home following his prolonged illness. Chileshe sued her husband, Isaac Chola, 41, of Mtendere East, at the Chelstone Local Court, saying their marriage began to unravel after he fell ill and moved in with his parents. In his defence, Chola told the court that his illness forced him to move in with his mother because he could not manage living alone. He accused his wife of neglecting him, leaving him unattended...
