Veteran media personality and internationally acclaimed voice-over artiste Chilu Lemba is celebrating 30 years in broadcasting and voice-over. Reflecting on his career, he noted that although AI can replicate voices, ‘at the moment it hasn’t got the soul of a human being,’ adding that communication is ultimately about human-to-human connections. The award-winning voice-over artiste says that while voices can be cloned, AI presents both challenges in protecting artistes’ rights and opportunities to work more flexibly, even when they are unavailable.
