THE world’s fastest animal, the cheetah, has been reintroduced into the Greater Luangwa Ecosystem after a 30-year absence. The Greater Luangwa Ecosystem encompasses North and South Luangwa National Parks, Luambe National Park, Lukusizi National Park, Munyamadzi and the surrounding Game Management Areas. In a statement issued by the Ministry of Tourism Principal Public Relations Officer Nelly Banda, the reintroduction of three male and three female cheetahs from South Africa follows more than a decade of scientific planning, international collaboration, ecological assessments, and financing by the Howard G.
