THE Auditor General’s Report on the Audit of Government Payroll for the years ended December 31, 2017 to 2021 has revealed that 3,147 officers in 60 districts who were paid salaries totalling K322,921,335 were still not accounted for, adding that the Ministry of Health didn’t know even their whereabouts. Meanwhile, the report has revealed that 243 officers under the Ministry of Education found in possession of fake certificates were not rendering services but were being paid salaries totalling K26,136,077 as at September 30, 2021.
