GOVERNMENT has announced that it will soon take to Cabinet, for approval, a proposal to re-gazette Forest 27. Addressing the media, Wednesday, Lands and Natural Resources Minister Elijah Muchima said once the forest was re-gazetted, those already occupying houses in the area would be subjected to certain conditions. “Yes, we undertook a tour [as] council of ministers who included water, local government, green economy and myself to look at the issue of Forest 27. [It’s] critical [because] it’s a recharge area. We are receiving a report, preliminary report, on the investigations to see how human settlement is affecting a recharge area.
