THE Anti-Corruption Commission in Choma has arrested a court interpreter at Kalomo Subordinate Court for corruptly soliciting a bribe of K10,000 to facilitate the acquittal of a suspect. In a statement, Monday, ACC head of corporate communications Timothy Moono said Vernon Matente corruptly solicited K10,000 and actually received K6,500 as gratification from two individuals as an inducement or reward to facilitate a suspect’s speedy prosecution and acquittal. “The Anti-Corruption Commission in Choma has arrested and charged a Court Interpreter at Kalomo Subordinate Court for corruptly soliciting a bribe of K10,000.00.
