USAID Zambia Deputy Mission Director Robin Sharma says it is concerning to note that the country is still experiencing an array of actions directed at limiting freedom of expression. Speaking during the launch of the Freedom of Expression Report for July to December 2022, Sharma said he was worried that freedoms were reliant on the existing government’s goodwill and not backed by legal and institutional reforms. “It is concerning to note that around the world, we are still experiencing an array of actions directed at limiting freedom of expression, including violence against journalists, harassment and intimidation, misinformation, disinformation, cyber bullying, and acts of censorship.
