ACTING Mines Minister Felix Mutati says the few workers who will lose jobs after First Quantum Minerals consolidates its mining operations will be compensated according to the labour laws. Speaking in the National Assembly, Wednesday, Mutati said government was closely engaging FQM to ensure the affected workers were treated fairly. “Government is aware of the ongoing restructuring at First Quantum Minerals which comes as a result of FQM’s decision to consolidate its mining operations, including the road and earthquakes mining division with the operations at Kansanshi Mining PLC.
