POLICE Inspector General Graphel Musamba has hinted that Socialist Party leader Fred M’membe is being pursued for allegedly endangering state security. Last Thursday, Police summoned Dr M’membe to appear before the Zambia Police Headquarters cyber crimes unit on August 8, 2023 at 10:00 hours. Police also recorded a warn and caution statement from FDD president Edith Nawakwi in relation to the alleged offences of threatening violence and abduction. In an interview, Musamba said there was nothing sinister about the summoning of opposition leaders, arguing that police simply wanted them to respond to some questions over what they did. “The police has always been independent and we do things as complaints arise, that’s all.
