LUSAKA Mayor Chilando Chitangala has invited the Patriotic Front faction led by Secretary General Raphael Nakacinda to meet with council officials and discuss the party’s participation in the “Keep Lusaka Clean” campaign. Lusaka is experiencing the worst cholera outbreak in recent times, and the city council has been undertaking cleaning exercises in a bid to stop the spread of the disease. Last month, the PF wrote to the city council, seeking permission to join the cleaning exercise but Acting Town Clerk Liftery Ndaba rejected the opposition party’s offer on the basis that the council did not recognise Nakacinda’s authority within the PF structures.
